Hi Guys,
Happy Wednesday!
I know the newsletter is off by two days but better late than never.
Greetings from Jackson Hole after spending 5 days back in NYC for the first time since I left in October.
I went to NYC for client work. One of my clients is prepping to do a seed raise and we all agreed that an in-person meeting (taking all the necessary precautions) was the best use of our time to plan out the process, strategy, and materials.
Man, as much as I love zoom and WFH, I was reminded that nothing beats being in the same room with people focused on the same mission. It’s magical. The energy buzzing, ideas bouncing back and forth, ideating, writing on the boards, and coming up with breakthroughs reminded me how powerful the right energy can be. I really missed at the moment high fives— yeah those are pretty awesome.
Being back in NYC brought with it a lot of feels. I saw New York in a new light. a more calm, collected, and aligned light that wasn’t there prior to my time in Jackson. This visit was important. As I was departing the plane, I told myself that this is the first time this version of me is coming to NYC. So, I decided to embrace NYC as newcomer. It felt really good to introduce myself to NYC.
Even though I missed the city, I realized that what I missed the most were the people and my community. I am not sure where we will live after Jackson, but something tells me it may not be NYC.
From the Internet to Real Life.
My time in NYC was special for one reason: I was meeting my clients, partners, and new friends for the first time in real life. Yes, I had met my coaching partner via twitter and my client via IG in the last year and we were making it official by gathering in person. It felt really good to do so.
I love the internet. I really do. It has been a great source of joy, friendship, income, and transformation in so many unimaginable ways. I am excited about what the future holds in all of these areas. Especially when we start emerging out of the pandemic and bringing our digital lives into the real world. Magic.
